If the 1981 Ringo Starr vehicle Caveman were directed by David Attenborough rather than Carl Gottlieb, it would look a lot like Sasquatch Sunset. The latest from the Austin-based directing duo, the Zellner Brothers, follows a year in the life of a family of BigFoots. The narrative is basically Quest For Fire crossed with Sometimes a Great Notion by way of The Star Wars Holiday Special. I'm not sure it fully earns its 90-minute runtime, but stars Jessie Eisenberg, Riley Keoho, Christophe Zajac-Denek, and co-director Nathan Zellner take their performances seriously, which are approached with equal parts authenticity and absurdism.
